OUR TEAMS
Shires Cricket
Our primary senior cricket is played in the Sydney Shires Competition. Strathfield CC is one of 13 Clubs playing in this Sydney-wide competition played on turf under the management of the Sydney Cricket Association, the major governing body for cricket in Sydney.
Shires cricket commenced I 1923 and has grown from a one grade competition to the 5 grades it now embraces.
We have a team competing in each Grade: -
1st Grade – the RB Clark Cup
2nd Grade – the SJ Mayne Trophy
3rd Grade – The JB Hollander Trophy
4th Grade – The Harry Culbert Trophy
5th Grade – Tim Creer Cup.
Other teams
In addition, we have teams playing in the Frank Gray Competition (under 24 years of age) and the Chappelow Cup Competition.
Shires 1st-4th Grade play a mix of 2-day and one-day limited (50) overs matches played on Saturdays. The Frank Gray competition is a limited overs (50) competition played for players under 24 years. Currently it’s played over 4 Rounds and Finals, exclusively on Sundays. The Tim Creer Cup is a limited overs (40) Competition.
The Shires Competition commences late September and runs through to Finals in late March.
The Chappelow Cup is also a limited overs Competition (40) played primarily on Sundays. Last season the Club had 3 teams competing in the Chappelow Cup
Junior Cricket
Strathfield plays its Junior Cricket in the local Canterbury/Western Suburbs Cricket Association Competitions.
These Age Competitions range from Under 9’s through to Under 15’s. Within each age group there are various Divisions dependent upon age and skill level.
The Competitions run between mid-September to mid-March and are played on Saturday mornings.

The Club is the 2023/24 Champions in Under
13 (Div 1) and Under 15 (Div 1).

We commence registrations in July each year through the PlayHQ platform.
Boys and Girls are both welcome
Masters Cricket
Masters Cricket has become a thriving addition to the Club in recent seasons. Currently we have teams playing in the Masters (Over 40’s) and Classics (over 50’s) under the Strathfield banner. Last season we joined with Burwood Briars in forming a Vintage (over 60’s) team.
VICTORIES-
Our Masters completed a three-peat of Championships in 2023/24.
Matches are played on turf grounds on alternate Sundays.
We had 3 Club members participate in the Masters World Cup in South Africa in 2023/24.
